Similarly to the PD series the LD series distinguishes itself with slim flashlights, that are predestined for the use in law enforcement- and military services. The body of the lamp is made from aircraft grade aluminum with a type III hard anodized finish and is therefore very robust.
Additionally the flashlights are waterproof by the terms of the IPX-8 standard and have a lifespan of approximately 50 000 hours.
The LD41 is powered by two AA-Mignon batteries, and and the digitally regulated output maintains constant brightness in four different brightness levels as well as 2 different special modes.
The XM-U2 LED module from Cree is by far the largest and heaviest flashlight of the series, but in return reaches a brightness of 520 lumens with a staggering range of approximately 200m.
